They are left in the chest freezer, outside the main entrance, Bagged separately, clearly labelled with the fishermans contact details (date, name, address, telephone number, Number of fish dropped off, weight of each fish, what smoking service required (i.e. sliced, unsliced, small packs).
If fish are dropped off during the week, during business hours, payment can be made over the counter. Otherwise, fisherman are trusted to put the money (cash or cheque) in to one of the envelopes provided and post it through the letterbox. The fish are then in our system. When they have been smoked the fisherman is advised by telephone that his/her fish are ready for collection and that they can pick them up from the walk-in refrigerator in the collection area. Fish will remain in our walk-in refrigerator for 10 days and it would be greatly appreciated if they could be collected within that timeframe. If this is not possible we will freeze the fish in one of our indoor freezers and fisherman will need to contact us by telephone to arrange collection. Due to environmental health reasons we can only keep processed fish in our freezer for up to 3 months from when the smoked product is frozen down.
